Description
And here's the other angle to level. If these two positions are leveled and your artwork is level, then no distortion will be introduced to the copy. But remember, the middle of the lens has to be at the same height as the middle of your art work, so the lens isn't pointed up or down, which will create a distortion.

Rich, Thanks for your set up instructions. I will share with Steve, although I think we're ok with the camera set-up and capture. Steve uses these techniques already to set-up and photograph my artwork. He actually has a mirror with dot-cross hairs in the center that he uses to get the middle position for lining up the artwork. Right now, we're photographing in my living room. The walls in that room are a light gray blue color (almost neutral). He is using two Photo Flash units on tripods, with light filters positioned between the lights and artwork, to reduce any glare on the artwork. The artwork is leveled vertically and horizontically in center on my wooden easel. Gail
