Description
Another image from Merritt Island, for the book I'm working on. This used to be a commercial fishing site, until NASA took over this island and turned it into a Wildlife preserve and oh yeah, Cape Canaveral too!

What an awesome experience and story, Rich ... I have goosebumps. How wonderful that the lady saw this ... I can only imagine what it meant to her and what memories it brought back. Well done, sir!!!!!

Lois, thank you for the comments! I had a gallery a few years ago, Downtown Orlando and a woman kept coming by and look at this and then leave and see some of the other artist's work. She then came and asked if she could take a photo and send it to someone, I said sure. Later, as the show was closing down, she came back and bought TWO of these, one for her and one for her sister. They used to live on this stretch of river and their grandfather owned this dock, before it was taken over by NASA. Down the street from the Cape Kennedy Space facility!

Gorgeous, gorgeous art, Rich ... reminds me of my days as a kid playing along the tributaries of the Chesapeake!!! Sometimes just one too many hurricanes or big storms and the folks along the rivers just said, that's it ... I'm done. But the old pilings make for such beautiful art as you've proven here so well!!!!! lf t and p
